Amitraz is a topical antiparasitic agent used mainly for
the treatment of generalized demodicosis in dogs. Canine
Demodicosis (demodectic mange, red mange) is a skin disease
caused by over-population of mites that normally live in
small numbers on most dogs. Amitraz is also used as a general
insecticidal / mitacidal drug in some other animal species.
