Cisapride is a prokinetic agent that increases gastric
emptying and enhances motility throughout the entire GI
tract. Cisapride is used in animals to reduce nausea and
vomiting, and to releive chronic constipation. Cisapride
is not associated with the same neurologic side effects
as metoclopramide, and has the increased benefit of treating
constipation.
