Cyclosporine Opthalmic solution

Cyclosporine is an imunosuppressant agent that is useful
in treating immune-mediated Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS,
"Dry Eye") in dogs, cats and other animals. KCS
causes dry eyes which may eventually lead to blindness.
One of the primary causes of KCS is autoimmune destruction
of tear gland tissue, which leads to decreased tear production.
Cyclosporine eye drops are used to suppress the immune destruction
of tear gland tissue in KCS and help restore normal tear
production. Cyclosporine opthalmic solution is effective
in other inflammatory diseases of the eye, such as German
Shepherd Pannus and other types of keratitis.
